Description

This car is the first Ferrari to be sold new in Australia by the newly appointed dealer, W.H Lowe in Whithorse road, Balwyn. It was the first of three 250 Pininfarina Coupe to be ordered by Lowes, the second car was red and was exported, and the third was ivory and remarkably is still in the hands of the family that bought it new. Just 353 Pf Coupes were built, and sadly it is estimated that over half the production has been lost or turned into racing car replicas.

All three of the Australian-delivered cars were fitted with the desirable Tipo 128F ‘outside plug’ version of Colombo’s V12 and, new for Ferrari – disc brakes. The V12 ofcourse drives the rear wheels via four speed gearbox with a Laycock de Normanville overdrive unit.
