Description
The Arnolt Bristol was the brainchild of Stanley Arnolt, an American engine builder who made his fortune selling engines to the US Navy during WWII. He commissioned Bertone’s head designer Franco Scaglione to create the beautiful proportions and combined this a Bristol 404 producing 150 brake horse power from it’s BMW developed inline 6 cylinder engine. The cars were produced at Arnolt’s factory in Warsaw Indiana and in its single year of production only 142 were ever built and 12 of those were destroyed in a fire. At almost US$5000 the car was way too expensive for most potential customers although it did perform well in its motorsport career winning its class at Sebring on three occasions.
