Description
The Volvo P1800 was a remarkable car in the history of Volvo as they set out to produce a sports coupe in 1961 and nearly 50,000 cars were produced until the model was discontinued in 1973.
The P1800s is notable as the car driven by Roger Moore in his role of The Saint in the 1960s and because it holds the world record for any car in terms of kilometres driven as an American owner, Irv Gordon, completed over 5 million kms in his car during his lifetime. A testament to the longevity of the B18 engine and to Volvo.
This car was delivered new to Melbourne in 1965 and was the daily driver of the grandparents of the current owner. The car went to a new owner for over 25 years and was re-acquired by the grandson and brought back into the family.
As a passion project, the car recently underwent a bare-metal restoration to return it to its original factory specification.
