Description
The Bentley GT3 is a racing version of the road-going Continental Coupe. Under the GT3’s bonnet is the brand’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. With a redesigned dry sump, and intake and exhaust systems, the motor produces around 410kW of power. Drive is sent to the rear wheels via a Ricardo six-speed sequential transmission, carbon-fibre propshaft, and a limited-slip differential. Designed by Bentley and its partner M-Sport, the Continental GT3 looks like its road-going namesake, but its body has been redesigned for maximum downforce, and features a large carbon-fibre rear wing and diffuser, and other aerodynamic adjustments. Thanks to its largely aluminium structure and stripped out interior, the GT3 weighs under 1300kg. As it’s a racing car, it also has an FIA-approved roll cage, six-point safety harness, fire extinguisher and pneumatic jack. Under the aggressively flared and vented wheel arches, the car rides on 18-inch BBS alloy wheels with 355/705 Pirelli P-Zero tyres. These are connected to a double wishbone suspension system with four-way adjustable dampers at both ends.
Braking power comes from ventilated iron discs at all four corners, with six-piston callipers at the front, four-piston units at the rear, and a driver adjustable braking bias.
